Internet personality Braden Peters, widely recognized online as Clavicular, has offered insights into his "looksmaxxing" movement, a contentious health regimen that is increasingly adopted by young men.
Clavicular described "looksmaxxing" as a comprehensive approach to self-improvement, pushing it to what he considers its ultimate conclusion. The 20-year-old livestreamer's movement has seen a significant rise in popularity among Generation Z and Generation Alpha. This rigorous regimen aims to maximize one's physical appearance, incorporating various practices. These include the use of stimulants and a practice known as "bone smashing," which Clavicular defines as intentionally striking facial bones with a hammer to potentially stimulate growth. Medical professionals have issued warnings against such methods due to the substantial risk of severe injury.
The Philosophy Behind Looksmaxxing
He elaborated that "looksmaxxing" encompasses traditional bodybuilding and fitness routines, alongside a novel focus on facial aesthetics. Clavicular noted that this emphasis on the face had been largely absent from many male self-improvement and "red pill" discussions, which typically centered more on physique and physical training.
Clavicular is particularly known for his extensive livestreams on Kick, where he is often seen in candid social settings within nightclubs. Clips from these events, frequently featuring him using pickup lines to engage with women, often go viral, garnering millions of views. He stated that his club outings illustrate the fundamental nature of "hypergamy" and underscore the reasoning behind the entire "looksmaxxing" philosophy's importance.
He asserted that only about two percent of individuals observed in nightlife settings achieve success with women, meaning they are able to take a woman home for a one-night stand. Clavicular concluded that, by this metric, most people in clubs effectively "stand literally no chance."
Controversies and Broader Influence
The streamer's interactions with young women have sparked controversy, drawing criticism for what some perceive as an insolent demeanor toward women. In March, he was arrested on a battery charge, allegedly for instigating a physical altercation between two women and subsequently sharing the video on social media.
Despite the controversies, numerous members of Generation Z and Generation Alpha have embraced Clavicular's "looksmaxxing" techniques, hoping to enhance their physical appearance. Critics, however, have voiced concerns regarding the streamer's increasing impact on younger audiences.
Clavicular believes that the more content he creates, the more it highlights and emphasizes the necessity of prioritizing one's appearance and initiating "looksmaxxing."
The influencer clarified that "looksmaxxing" is not exclusively about attracting women, contending that an appealing physical appearance improves "every single micro interaction in your life."
He further argued that physical attractiveness is a prerequisite for professional success, stating, "If they're not good-looking they're not going to get the job."
The latest interview with Clavicular is scheduled to be released on Tuesday and will be accessible across YouTube, Spotify, and Apple platforms.
