An Ohio man, identified as Tycen Proper, 19, allegedly amassed a substantial arsenal of weapons, ammunition, and other supplies in preparation for a purported terrorist attack at the White House during a mixed martial arts event, according to official reports.
Proper is among seven individuals accused of conspiring to carry out an attack during the UFC Freedom 250 event, which took place at the White House on June 14. Law enforcement officials stated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) became aware of the alleged plot on June 10, prompting a collaborative effort with local authorities that led to the arrests.
Details of the Alleged Stockpile
A report from the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Ohio indicates that Proper spent approximately $3,000 on various items, including armor, ballistic vests, a shotgun, and additional ammunition, among other provisions.
Specific acquisitions detailed in the report include a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, distinctively painted with an American flag, which Proper reportedly purchased on June 5, along with accompanying ammunition. Furthermore, officials stated that Proper had acquired an AR-15 5.56 caliber rifle on January 13.
Authorities allege that Proper's stockpile, stored at a family member's residence, consisted of:
- A 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun adorned with an American flag and equipped with a red dot optic.
- An AR-15 rifle featuring a red dot sight and a magnifier.
- Three plate carriers outfitted with .308-rated ballistic plates.
- A tactical bump helmet.
- A battle belt complete with loaded ammunition pouches.
- Thirteen loaded AR-15 magazines.
- More than 1,000 rounds of 5.56 ammunition.
- Dozens of 12-gauge shells, including both buckshot and rifled slugs.
- Multiple fixed and folding blades, as well as a hatchet.
- Two tactical headsets, chemical lights, and a compass.
- Extensive medical trauma gear, such as tourniquets, emergency bandages, wound seals, and gauze.
