Aaron Rodgers Eyes Family Life Post-NFL, Hopes for Pregnant Wife Next Year

The upcoming Sunday is set to commence what many anticipate could be Aaron Rodgers' concluding season in the National Football League. The celebrated four-time league MVP committed to a one-year agreement during the offseason to rejoin the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers' potential departure from professional football has been a frequent topic of discussion, and new details emerged this week regarding his vision for life after the game.

Future Plans Beyond Football

Establishing a family appears to be a significant priority for the 42-year-old quarterback once he decides to step away from the sport. Speaking with SiriusXM, Rodgers indicated his hope that he and his wife would be actively pursuing this goal by this time next year.

I'm hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we're going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements. And I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.

The discussion then shifted to whether Rodgers was simply contemplating the future or hinting at a more immediate development. "I’m talking about I’m hoping that I have a pregnant wife by next [year] this time," Rodgers clarified.

Influence of Family Connections

After a period of estrangement from certain relatives, Rodgers acknowledged that mending those relationships had influenced his desire to start a family. He also mentioned how much he has enjoyed spending time with his brother’s children.

I'm definitely excited about it. I mean, being back in my family's lives, I'm having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron. I have a few godkids that I'm involved with, but being Uncle Aaron to my brother's kids has been a lot of fun. And the more I'm around them, the more I get excited, and so does the wife, about having some of our own. So, I'm excited for that. I can't wait for that next chapter of life and all that that entails, and sleepless nights and crying babies and changing diapers and all those things, I'm looking forward to all of it.

Since publicly announcing his marriage, Rodgers has largely kept his wife’s private life out of the public eye. The veteran NFL star has previously described his spouse as a "private person."
